'Stay Mentally Healthy' Campaign...
With over 25 years’ experience empowering individuals through the SEJ Process to ‘stay mentally healthy’.
Our Mission
'Stay Mentally Healthy' is dedicated to promoting mental well-being through our volunteer-led organisation. Campaigning for a paradigm shift in mental health provision with a move away from reactive intervention to proactive prevention. We strive to provide education, resources, and guidance to individuals facing mental health challenges enabling them to reach their full potential and create a mentally healthy world. Our goal is to create a safe and inclusive space through our SMH Hubs where everyone can openly discuss their mental health and find the help they need. We rely on donations and partnerships, working collaboratively with local businesses and educational settings in support of our work. We're so grateful to everyone who supports us financially and partners with us. Thank you.
Jacqueline Mary Phillips
Founder of the SEJ and ‘Stay Mentally Healthy’ Campaign.
Mary (as she prefers to be known) is the founder of the SEJ, and ‘Stay Mentally Healthy’ campaign. She is responsible for ensuring that the vision of the campaign is realised.
Mary says...
"I originally worked in the corporate world for many years whilst simultaneously experiencing mental health challenges; including depression, anxiety, and self harm, culminating in attempted suicide. I spent over 14 years in and out of psychiatric hospitals and was eventually diagnosed with complex PTSD. During this time I suffered several recurring bouts of depression, some mild, others severe culminating in a life changing event at the age of 28 when the SEJ Process was born out of my experiences. I have now been depression free for over 27 years.
I have shared the SEJ Process training and services with people from all walks of life, the Armed Forces, Police, Clergy, Sports Professionals, Education and in Business. It is my firm belief that if we can educate everyone about their mental health and at the same time give them the life skills required to stay mentally healthy, then they will go on to live empowered lives, reach their full potential and become productive members of society."
Your voice matters:
"It is essential that we all come together and campaign to create a paradigm shift in mental health provision. Whereby we firstly listen objectively to the voices of the masses, professionals and non-professionals alike, and acknowledge that the current mental health provision is not fit for purpose. We must create a new paradigm, one of personal responsibility, moving away from reactive intervention to proactive prevention. Where everyone is given the opportunity to learn about their mental health and develop the skills required to stay mentally healthy, enabling them to reach their full potential.

“Part of my Head Volunteer role is to provide leadership to the function of volunteering. To promote and enable a positive culture of engagement and the values of work for the organisation, ensuring that volunteering is understood and respected throughout the organisation which reflects on the day to day work.
